That is how many iPads that were sold by Apple since the iPad 3 launched on March 16th. Apple announced late Monday that it has sold more than 3 million new iPads. That is 750,000 per day, 31,250 per hour, 520 per minute, 8 per second! That is a record for Apple since the launch of the iPad, making this the most successful launch yet for Apple’s tablet.
There are few significant differences between the new iPad 3 and the second-generation iPad 2, but that didn’t stop thousands of Apple fans fanatics from waiting hours in line to be among the first to get it Friday morning.
The iPad commands nearly 60 percent of the tablet market.
